News from the Guidance Department:.

 

  • If any of you Seniors are patients at Koga Orthodontics, you can pick up a Scholarship Application at their Monroe Office. The Deadline to apply is March 1, 2024; and the Scholarship Award Amount is $1,000!

News from Academics

  • You can now sign up for Coach Osborne's driving class online at gorebs.org Click on online payments and sign up there.Classes will start January 8th after school. Any questions see Coach in the gym.

  • Attention sophomores wanting to take a dual enrollment course in the spring: OPSB will fund one class in the spring for you. As a reminder, juniors will get two funded courses, and seniors will get three. New enrollees for the spring need to be sure and get packets turned in to Mrs. Hunt ASAP.

Club and Organization News:

 

  • Senior Baby Ads are also on sale at gorebs.org through online school payments. The deadline for ordering Senior Baby Ads is Tuesday.

  • The  homeroom canned food drive competition sponsored by Student Council has been extended to December 15th.

  • Key Clubbers, The parade meeting location for decorating the float has changed. Please check Google Classroom or GroupMe for the details. The theme is “ugly sweater” so dig out your tackiest outfit and let’s kick off this Christmas season.

  • Christmas Dance tickets are found on the Tickets tab in the Quick Links section of gorebs.org  The access code is your student ID.

  • Students may invite a guest from an outside school. THe form to get approval can be found in the Student Life Google Classroom or in room 1205.

  • If any students are in need of any clothes or hygiene products, please fill out the care closet google form or see Mrs. Johnson in student services or Katie Boutwell in 1222. 

  • There’s an orchestra concert Monday evening in the Auditorium and there’s also a piano concert Tuesday in the auditorium.

  • Would you like to help a local 5yr old little girl who is fighting cancer? Every year, 18,000 patients are diagnosed with life-threatening blood cancers or other blood disorders that could be cured or treated with a blood stem cell transplant. But 70% of them don't have a fully matched donor in their family. They depend on Be The Match® to find an unrelated donor. Volunteers will be at WEST MONROE HIGH SCHOOL December 7, 2023 from 10am-1:30pm in the Main Lobby, to swab cheeks to be sent off and entered into the national bone marrow donor registry which could be a match for this young girl or others needing a transplant. If you are 18yrs old or older, you can register to be a donor. Students can stop by Mrs. Nix’s classroom (Room 3105) to get more information & to register. You must pre-register to be swabbed. Please take this opportunity to see if you could help save a life.
